Linda L. D’Spain is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Orthopaedic and Spine Institute Medical Centers (OSI). Before joining OSI, Ms. D’Spain traveled the country through D’Spain Consulting, her personal Medical Practice Management Consulting firm consulting and conducting national seminars, workshops and webinars with physician practices, hospitals and medical society’s on healthcare reimbursement, documentation guidelines, CPT, ICD’9 and ICD’10 coding, financial management, human resources, medical office management and compliance with Fraud and Abuse, OSHA, and HIPAA. She has also served as an IRO (Independent Review Organization) for the Office of the Inspector General. Ms. D’Spain is native to San Antonio, Texas and joins OSI with more than 25 years in medical practice management. She has managed cardiology, cardiothoracic, vascular surgery, physical therapy, pediatric orthopedics, gynecology and reproductive endocrinology practices where she was responsible for leading, managing, and growing the practices. She maintained broad responsibilities for all administrative functions of the medical groups including business and clinical operations, financial management, governance and organizational dynamics, human resource management, marketing, customer service, compliance, information system management, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management. Ms. D’Spain has a degree in Business Administration and is a Board Certified Medical Practice Executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives. She has also earned designations as a Certified Medical Compliance Officer (CMCO), Certified Medical Coder (CMC), Certified Medical Insurance Specialist (CMIS), and Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM) through Practice Management Institute. Ms. D’Spain is a member of San Antonio Medical Group Managers, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and is an advisory board and faculty member with Practice Management Institute. Ms. D’Spain is currently working toward her fellowship in HealthCare Administration.
